**Summer gets ugly when Maddie Foster finds out she's the most powerful weapon in the history of the fair folk. If she can't rediscover the power of her true nature, the witch who cut out her heart will be back to finish the job...**
In the meantime, Maddie is stuck in the Veil, a parallel world where queens reign, magic simmers in stone cauldrons, and the people eat - gulp - bugs. Not exactly standard Chicago fare. On the other hand, the men smell like pine needles.
And you get to have two.
But time is short. Midsummer approaches, the leaders of the fair folk gather to decide the fate of a society centuries in the making, and Maddie's arrival might be just the excuse they need to bring it all crashing down.
