“This is a war between two selfish humans, and it doesn’t matter whose side anyone chooses; we all lose in the end.”
The war in Solus has raged for fifteen years between Kaska the Maimed and the Queen Gawela. Many lives have been lost, caught in the cross-fire; entire villages razed and families torn asunder. The war has been going on since before Namida the Red was even born.
Namida did not always have a title. She did not always know how to wield a sword, or have a Fate-given Hound as her bonded companion. What she did have once, was two good arms and a loving family. That was before Kaska’s troops set her village, the only world she’d known, on fire.
When Namida is rescued from certain death at the cost of her left arm, she vows to kill Kaska and end the war that is tearing her country apart. But as she gets closer to her goal, she comes to realize that not all is as it seems, and both sides have secrets she will wish she never learned.
